You can use our form to order a new, additional or replacement bin, sack or outdoor food waste caddy (if your collections have already started). You can also report a stolen or damaged bin.
You’re allowed up to four blue bins for mixed recycling, and four green bins for food and garden waste. In certain circumstances you can have a second black bin for general waste, and a second outdoor food caddy (if your collections have already started).
We have two sizes of bin available and these will be issued at our discretion:
- standard bin - capacity 240 litres: 107 x 48 x 74cm
- small bin - capacity 140 litres: 107 x 48 x 55.5cm
When ordering any type of bin, you must be able to store this off the street.
Below is a summary of the bins we provide and the charges for each (if applicable).
Blue bins
Your blue bin is used for mixed recycling. You can have up to four blue bins per property.
If possible, extra recycling can be placed in a transparent sack and put next to the bin on collection day. For more guidance on this, please read how we collect extra recycling. This can be an option if you do not want to order a new bin.
Fees
- Delivery of additional bins: free other than third and fourth bin which are £31.50 each
- Collection of all bins: no extra charge
- Replacement of lost bins: £31.50 per bin
Green bins
Your green bin is used for garden waste. You can have up to four green bins per property.
Fees
- Delivery of bins: free
- Replacement of lost bins: £31.50 per bin
There is no charge for emptying your first green bin. If you want to have any additional bins emptied you must pay for a permit.

Green bin permit stickers
We will send out a sticker for your additional bin to show that you have a permit. It may take up to 14 days for them to arrive once permits are paid for. The sticker provided must be placed on the body of the bin at the back, under the handles so it is clearly visible to the collection crews.
Please do not leave your bin out for collection until you have received and displayed your permit, or it will not be collected by our crew.
Black bins
Your black bin is used for general waste. You might be eligible to have two black bins per property.
Fees
- Delivery of additional bin (at our discretion): £31.50
- Delivery of additional bin to those with medical need: free
- Replacement of lost bin: £31.50
If a bin is recorded by us as damaged or lost during emptying it, we will replace it free of charge.
Food waste caddies
Your food waste caddy is for food waste only. If you don't have a weekly food waste collection yet, check when the service will start in your area. You might be eligible to have two outdoor food caddies per property. We do not replace indoor kitchen caddies or provide additional ones.
If food waste collections have started in your area and you have not received your indoor caddy, outdoor caddy and roll of liners, please contact us and we will arrange delivery

- Replacement of lost or damaged outdoor caddy: free
Additional black bins
In exceptional circumstances, you may be able to pay for an additional smaller bin. Please contact us if you feel that you need this.
Second bins will be delivered with a sticker attached to them so that these can be easily identified by our crews. Additional bins without stickers will not be emptied.
Request a sack
Sacks can be provided if:
- you do not have space to store a bin off the public highway
- have physical barriers that prevent a bin being safely moved to the collection point
We can deliver:
- white sacks for general rubbish
- brown paper sacks for garden and food waste
- clear recycling sacks for recycling
Sacks are to be used instead of bins and not in addition to a bin. If you require a sack service please contact us to arrange this.
Bins for new housing developments
A set of three x 240 litre bins will be issued to new houses as standard. The size and quantity of bins issued to flats will be agreed at the planning consultation stage.
Fees
The cost to issue bins to new properties is a one-off £100 charge which covers all three bins. Where S106 applies, this is paid for by the developer, otherwise the cost is incurred by the householder.
If you have moved into a new house, please check that the developer or landlord has not ordered bins for you before placing an order with us.
