As the temperature drops, there’s a chance that the contents in your green bin will freeze and it won’t empty properly from the mechanical emptying process. We do not return to empty frozen green bins. View tips on how to prevent them from freezing

Food waste collections

Starting in 2026, all households in South Cambridgeshire and Cambridge will receive a weekly food waste collection service. This is due to new national legislation requiring separate food waste collection.
